Election Information

Township Election No Longer Held In March

The question as to whether to move the Belle Plaine Township election form March to November was posed as a ballot question in the 2006 March election. The resolution passed by a majority of the town electors voting on the question. It is believed that moving the election to November will ensure the best possible voter turnout and bring towns in line with other governmental entities.

In order to provide an orderly transition to the November election schedule, all the terms of office were lengthened to a 4-year term.

The next township election will be held in November 2010 along with the General election. One - full term Supervisor position, One - 2 year term Supervisor position, and the Clerk’s position will be up for election in 2010.
